Team Of Experts

Dr. Junaidu A. Maina (Chairman)

Dr. Junaidu A Maina, a holder of Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM), began his career as Veterinary Officer in 1979, rising through the ranks to serve as the Director, Federal Department of Livestock and Pest Control Services from 2005 2009. He was the Project Manager, World Bank assisted Second Livestock Development Project (SLDP) from 1991 to 1995 He is versatile with livestock development policies at State, Federal and International levels and has participated in numerous policy and development discourse on matters of livestock development. He is currently the Chairman of FAO World Organization for Animal Health Rinderpest Joint Advisory Committee (JAC) and vice chairman: Global Alliance for Livestock Veterinary Medicine (GALVmed) Board of trustees. He consults for World Organization for Animal Health (OIE), Food and Agriculture Organization (FOA), World Bank, African Union, Economic Community of West African (ECOWAS), Federal Government of Nigeria and some Non-Government Organizations (NGOS).

Mr. Mohammed Moukhtar Rumah

An expert in business and enterprise development, financial planning and multi- nodal transportation (Air, Sea and Land). and market linkage for agricultural commodities. He is Chief Executive Officer of Songhai Aviation Limited a successful company which is focused on aircraft solution. centered on cargo and people transport.

Dr. Rabe I. Mani

Dr. Rabe Mani is a renown international scholar and expert in livestock development. A holder of University of Melbourne (UNIMEL) Doctorate Degree (PhD) in Animal Production, Dr. Mani’s 46 years professional and public service careers trans versed from local, state, federal, international research centers to the United Nations Food and Agriculture Organization (2006 – 2017). At FAO, Dr. Mani was As Assistant FAO Representative in Nigeria, in charge of Programmes, Dr. Mani initiated, formulated, contributed to the formulation of, and supervised the implementation of all the country projects in Nigeria. He also contributed immensely in the formulation of 2 United Nations Development Assistance Framework (UNDAF) each with 4 years cycle; national programmes and strategic policy and development documents that included the Nigeria Vision 2020 Document Agricultural Transformation Agenda (ATA) and the National Livestock Transformation Plan (NLTP).Prior to joining FAO, Dr. Mani retired as Deputy Director in the Agricultural Sciences Department of the Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (FMARD). He was the Unit Head of the Research Management Systems Development of the World Bank supported National Agricultural Research Project (NARP). NARP reorganized and strengthened the research and development capacities of the 18 National Agricultural Research Institutes (NARIs) and the Federal Colleges of Agriculture (FCAs) During his civil service career, he also served in different capacities from a diploma holder Livestock Assistant in a Katsina Local Government veterinary clinic, an Animal Husbandry Officer that managed two cattle ranches in Kachia (Kaduna State) and Kankara (Katsina State) amongst other responsibilities. Dr. Mani undertook his MSc studies (UI) under the sponsorship and direct supervision of the International Livestock Research Centre for Africa (ILCA now ILRI), and his PhD. at UNIMEL under a collaborative research programme between ILCA, National Livestock Projects Division (NLPD-FMARD) and the Australian Centre for Agricultural Research (ACIAR).

Dr. Roger Joshua Tanko

Expert on Range Management and pasture production. With over 27 years direct field experience. He was is a lead Scientist in the Feeds and Nutrition Research Programme, National Animal Production Research Institute, Ahmadu Bello University, NAPRI/ABU. Tanko holds a PhD in forage agronomy.

Hannatu H. Maina

(MA, Gender Studies; MBA; PGD, Coop & B. Ed, H/ Econ)- is an educationist with special interest in the plight of young girls; women empowerment/rights advocacy and inclusion.  She has over thirty years experience in teaching, research, management, administration and communication. She is a  Gender Analyst who has worked with various communities to ensure integration and mainstreaming of gender in developmental programs especially at the grass root level.


Mr. Ibrahim Gambo

Environmental manager with in depth knowledge of environmental policies and competence in developing pollution control and waste management systems. Experienced in remote sensing and GIS tools for the purpose of conducting surveys, digital analysis and interpretation. He holds a Master's degree in Environmental Management and B.sc Geography all from Bayero University.

Maryam Njie

Maryam (MEng, MSc) is a social entrepreneur and a sustainability professional, supporting and executing green, sustainable and visionary environmental solutions. She has over a decade combined professional experience in various capabilities in the built environment, circular economy, waste management and program coordination from the UK and Nigeria.
